59th Annual Meter School May 4 - 8, 2009 General Information |
The Mid-South Electric Metering Association 58th Annual Meter School will be held May 4 - 8, 2009 at the Nashville Airport Marriott in Nashville, Tennessee. The hotel is located at 600 Marriott Drive. Please check back for after the planning session for updates to this page.

Registration - Check back after the planning session for registration information.
Exhibit Area - The exhibit area will be open Monday through Wednesday. Hours are: Monday 1:00 PM - 6:30 PM, Tuesday 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM, and Wednesday 8:00 AM -3:00 PM. Morning and afternoon refreshment breaks will be in the exhibit area. Monday and Tuesday night the exhibitors will host a reception in the exhibit area.
Door Prizes - There will be door prizes given away during the afternoon breaks in the exhibit area, during the exhibitor's reception on Monday and Tuesday, during the business luncheon on Wednesday, and at the closing session on Friday.
Attire - Casual attire is appropriate for daily breakout classes and all other functions during the week.
Group Photo - On Tuesday, May 5 the annual group photo will be taken at 9:30 AM.
Business Meeting & Luncheon - The annual business meeting and luncheon is scheduled for Wednesday, May 6 from 11:00 AM til 12:45 PM. The business meeting is for everyone. Please make a special effort to attend.
Textbooks - The textbooks that will be used during the school are "Handbook for Electricity Metering" (ninth edition) and "Handbook for Electricity Metering - Appendices" (ninth edition). Those who have access to these should bring them to the school.
Reference Materials - This year we will have available a limited number of Ugly's Electrical Reference Books (2005 Edition) for sale at the school. We will also have order forms for the Edison Electric Institute Handbook for Electricity Metering as well as for reference materials by Alexander Publications.
Reference Standard Testing - Again this year Radian Research, Inc. is offering to attendees the testing of reference standards at no charge. Drop your standards off on Monday and pick them up later in the week. Appropriate certificates will be issued. Accuracy is traceable to the U.S. Bureau of Standards. We would like to thank Radian Research, Inc. for this valuable service.
Laptop Computers - Anyone interested in attending a vendor presentation which covers software applications (Group IV) may bring a laptop computer.
Calculators - You may bring a scientific calculator for the "Field Calculations for the Meterman" class in Group I (Monday 3:00 PM).
